Rod Crowfoot, MHS Managing Director announces the appointment of Orange based Renascent Regional Pty Ltd as their building contractor for the important expansion of their patient accommodation facility.
“The board of MHS are pleased to announce this important appointment, acknowledging the importance of this expansion that will support better health outcomes for the residents of rural NSW. This expansion has been keenly followed by the many guests who use our facility and the community at large, understanding the critical need that has existed for a number of years” Rod said.
A competitve tender campaign identified a number of interested building contractors, and following further due diligence and negotiations Renascent Regional Pty Ltd have been appointed.
During 2023, MHS worked closely with our consultants and Dubbo Regional Council to provide the Construction certificate which was received right before Christmas. This allowed Renascent Regional Pty Ltd to commence their site establishment in the new year and has seen early groundworks commence.
This new accommodation precinct will be known as the “CWA of NSW Guesthouse” and will provide 26 self-contained units incorporating one-bed, two-bed and family units. A spacious common room with kitchen, dining and living areas, guest laundry facilities and outdoor living spaces will also be provided.
“It is important to acknowledge the support received from many donors and sponsors, fundraising events and the NSW Government who have all contributed to this stage. Through their support, an additional 9,490 room nights of accommodation will be provided to patients and their partner or carer/family needing affordable and appropriate patient accommodation.
This expansion project is expected to be completed at the end of October 2024.
